GCBC strives to be a community of health and wholeness rooted in Christ as our healer. We see caring for ourselves and for others as an expression of God’s love.
Our Health Council and volunteer Parish Nurse are exploring ways to assist us in promoting wholeness through the integration of our faith and our health.
The Role of our Health Council is to develop a health ministry that promotes and supports the needs of our community. To reclaim the healing role of the church by embracing a holistic (body, mind and spirit) model of our health within our faith journey together.
The GCBC members who make up our newly formed Health Council are: Kelvin Bei (Chair), Laurie Duke (Parish Nurse), Helene Berry, Christina Chiu, Kim Woody, and Jayme Cline.
The Role of our Parish Nurse is to promote and support the holistic health needs of people of our community, across the life-span by walking alongside and supporting optimal well-being through health education, health counselling and advocacy.
To do this well, the Health Council is seeking your input on the health needs of our church community through this health survey.
We are collecting this information to help us plan the programs and priorities for the coming year. It is an anonymous survey. You may complete it electronically here or by completing a paper copy available at the back of the church and give it to Laurie, one of the health council members or a pastor.
WHO: We would like everyone over 16 years old to complete individual surveys.
TIMELINE: Please complete by July 31st.
